Wooden figure of Nephthys kneeling with the hands raised to the face in mourning;
In an ancient myth, Osiris was murdered by his evil brother Seth and mourned by his wife Isis and her sister Nephthys. Isis restored Osiris’s body, and he became a symbol of resurrection. Nephthys participated in the resurrection of Osiris and became associated generally with the protection of the dead. She is shown here kneeling, her arm raised in a gesture of mourning. The emblem on her head (now partially missing) consisted of the hieroglyphs for her name, meaning “Lady of the Mansion

Într-un mit antic, Osiris a fost ucis de fratele său malefic Seth și jelit de soția sa, Isis, și de sora ei, Nephthys. Isis i-a restaurat trupul lui Osiris, iar acesta a devenit un simbol al învierii. Nephthys a participat la învierea lui Osiris și a fost asociată în general cu protejarea morților.
Ea este înfățișată aici îngenuncheată, cu brațul ridicat într-un gest de doliu.
Emblema de pe capul ei (acum parțial lipsă) consta din hieroglifele pentru numele ei, care înseamnă „Doamna Conacului”
