المتحف المصري الكبير – مرآة التاريخ
أتقدم بأسمى آيات التهنئة إلى الدولة المصرية وجميع مؤسساتها على هذا الافتتاح المبهر الذي يجسد روعة الإبداع المصري وعظمة الإنجاز الوطني، متوجهاً بخالص الشكر والتقدير إلى كل من ساهم في إعداد وتنظيم هذا الحدث الإستثنائي الذي أضاء صورة مصر في أبهى تجلياتها أمام العالم ،
فقد شاهدت بمزيج من السعادة والفخر إفتتاح المتحف المصري الكبير، وهو ما يضيف إلى هذا الحدث التاريخي أبعادا عميقة أهمها ترسيخ الهوية الوطنية في قلوب الأجيال المتتابعة وغرس جذور الفن المصري الأصيل في الوجدان .
إن هذا المتحف ملحمةٌ تروى للأجيال القادمة لكن هذه الملحمة ما كان لها أن تتم، لولا رعاية وإهتمام السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي ،ودعمه المتواصل للمشروع بكل السبل حتى خرج إلى النور .
قد كان وراء هذا الإنجاز العظيم رجال مخلصون آمنوا بسموّ الرسالة التي يحملونها فبذلوا الجهد، وقدّموا الدعم فلهم كل التحية والتقدير ،
وفي مقدمة هؤلاء القوات المسلحة المصرية التي كان لها دور كبير في دعم هذا المشروع العملاق ، كما أتذكر الرئيس الأسبق محمد حسني مبارك الذي أبدى حماسًا كبيرًا عند انطلاق المشروع، وكذلك المشير الراحل محمد حسين طنطاوي، الذي قدّم دعمًا وافرًا، وإلى السادة رؤساء الوزراء والوزراء السابقين والحاليين وكذلك الزملاء الأفاضل في وزارتي الثقافة والآثار والمهندسين والخبراء والأثاريين والعمال، الذين بذلوا جهدًا مشهودًا لإنجاز هذا العمل الوطني الكبير، وأخص بالذكر رفقاء الدرب الصديق العزيز الدكتور زاهي حواس أمين عام المجلس الأعلى للآثار والصديق الراحل الأستاذ محمد غنيم رئيس قطاع العلاقات الثقافية الخارجية والأستاذ العزيز فاروق عبدالسلام المشرف المالي والإدراي علي المتحف المصري الكبير ،
الآن أشعر بالرضا الوافر، الآن أشعر بالسعادة الغامرة، وغاية ما أتمنى أن يتمسك الجيل الذي رأى تلك الحالة الوطنية الاستثنائية بما لديه من أحلام، وأن يستظل بمفردات الهوية المصرية التي من دونها نتوه بين الأمم، وأن ينقل تلك الروح إلى ما بعده من أجيال قادمة، فبهم يتجدد شباب مصر، وبأحلامهم تظل دومًا سامقة.
The Grand Egyptian Museum – A Mirror of History
I extend my highest congratulations to the Egyptian State and all its institutions on this magnificent inauguration, which embodies the brilliance of Egyptian creativity and the grandeur of national achievement. I also express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the preparation and organization of this exceptional event, which has illuminated Egypt’s image before the world in its most splendid form.
With a profound sense of happiness and pride, I have witnessed the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, an event that adds deep and enduring dimensions to this historic occasion—chief among them, the affirmation of national identity in the hearts of successive generations, and the rooting of authentic Egyptian art in the national consciousness.
This museum is truly an epic to be told for generations to come, yet this epic would never have been realized without the care, attention, and steadfast support of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, whose continuous guidance and commitment brought this great project to light.
Behind this monumental achievement stand faithful and devoted individuals who believed in the nobility of their mission, exerted tireless effort, and provided unwavering support. To all of them, I offer my deepest respect and appreciation.
At the forefront of these stand the Egyptian Armed Forces, whose vital role was instrumental in supporting this grand project. I also recall with gratitude former President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, whose enthusiasm accompanied the project at its inception, and the late Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, who offered generous and enduring support.
My appreciation extends as well to the former and current Prime Ministers and Ministers, to my esteemed colleagues at the Ministries of Culture and Antiquities, and to the architects, experts, archaeologists, and workers whose remarkable dedication made this great national endeavor possible.
I would also like to make special mention of my dear companions on this journey—my esteemed friend Dr. Zahi Hawass, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities; my late friend Mr. Mohamed Ghoneim, Head of the Cultural Relations Sector; and my respected colleague Mr. Farouk Abdel-Salam, Financial and Administrative Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Today, I feel a profound sense of contentment—a deep and overwhelming happiness. My greatest hope is that the generation which has witnessed this extraordinary national moment will hold fast to its dreams, take shelter beneath the canopy of Egyptian identity—without which we would lose our way among nations—and carry forward this spirit to future generations.
For through them, Egypt’s youth is renewed, and through their dreams, our nation shall remain forever glorious.
